Public Survey: Naming YK1's New School
To all YK1 families: Click here to read a press release from Graham Arts, principal of École J.H. Sissons and chair of a committee tasked with naming YK1's new school. As you can see, work is well underway on our new school on 51A Avenue, the site where École J.H. Sissons stood from 1975 until its closing in June 2020. Schools are an integral part of the fabric of our community, and as such we are engaging in a process that was thoughtfully designed to hear directly from the community and Indigenous governments on whose land the school is located. We are asking for you to provide your suggestions to the committee for a school name and the values you feel should be represented by it.
