Thank you for taking a few minutes to visit our website and stay up-to-date with the latest news for École Įtł'ǫ̀. Here is what we have on the schedule for this week:

Wednesday October 5th is International Teacher's Day. We would like to thank our PAC and Barren Ground Coffee for arranging treats for our teachers. Wednesday is also the day our Grade Two students will have their indigenous learning camp.

Thursday October 6th is our first Subway Day of the year. Again, we would like to thank our PAC for taking this on this year, along with Mme Laura for helping to get the ordering system set up. Since we are all at a new school, we have had to create a new site for orders. Also, any family of a student wishing to make an order must also create a new account (if you had an account last year for the school, it will no longer work). To make things easier, we are sharing instructions with you on how to get onto the system. If you previously bookmarked the ordering site, please update your links. The new site is itlo.hotlunches.net. (Edit October 3, 9:45 AM: Due to a delay in sending out emails announcing our website update, the ordering deadline for subway has been set for Tuesday, October 4th at 8:00 PM. Orders processed after that time cannot be included in time for Thursday's lunch day.)

On the morning of Friday, October 7th, we will run a "hold and secure" drill in our school. This is part of our regular safety planning, and we run a drill (fire, hold and secure, or lockdown) once per month. A "hold and secure" is meant to keep everyone inside the school secure, while preventing anyone from entering while the school is in that state. A school in "hold and secure" follows its normal instructional routines inside of the school, and students are not required to shelter in classes. By practicing our routines, we help to ensure the safety of our staff and our students.

Please remember that Monday October 10th is the Thanksgiving Holiday. There won't be any school on that day. Classes resume on Tuesday October 11th.
