Hello, my name is Sean Magee and I am an adventurous family person. The photo you see was taken at St. Charles Mountain on the Great Bear River where my wife (Lauren) and daughter (Isla - 3 in the picture) paddled for 10 days last summer. Our newest addition, Ivy-Jane, is only 5 months old so we’ll give her a bit of time before she goes on a serious trip with us. 

I was born in a small hamlet in Ontario, just outside of Guelph. Before moving to Lutsel K’e and starting my teaching career, I worked in the renewable energy sector and had a business of my own. I am forever grateful to have been welcomed on Akaitcho Territory and feel forever indebted to the generosity of my Dene friends that continue to share their land and culture with me and my family.

As a teacher, I am very student-centered and love getting outside. My background is in the sciences, but I just love learning in general. I am also taller than most people, so it’s pretty easy to see me coming. Please don’t hesitate to say hi whenever you bump into me at the school or in town. But you may need to tell me to stop talking. Range Lake is a great place to be a teacher; come learn with us!
