We had a wonderful Terry Fox community walk on Friday afternoon, made even better by the fabulous sunshine. Our walk capped off a week of events in classes where students learned about Terry and his legacy. We were happy to see the donations coming in. As of Friday afternoon, we still hadn't finalized the count of how much was received. All funds will be going to the Terry Fox Foundation early this coming week. Thank you for your generosity.

This week, individual classes are organizing learning around National Truth and Reconciliation. Individual classroom teachers will let families know what they have planned through their own class newsletters. On Thursday September 29th, we will hold a Feed the Fire ceremony. Community members are invited to attend. The ceremony will take place on the school's main playground. We start at 12:25 sharp. In addition, we encourage all staff and students to wear something orange on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the nurses from Public Health are coming to École  Įtł'ǫ̀ to offer the HPV Vaccine to our Grade 5 students. Consent forms have already gone home, but if you would like your child to have their vaccine and haven't yet returned the form, they can bring it with them on Wednesday morning.

Please remember that there aren't any classes Friday, September 30th. This is to allow students and families to participate in local National Day for Truth and Reconciliation activities. We hope that everyone takes some time to participate and reflect upon the legacy of Residential Schools, but also on how to engage in Reconciliation.
