Interested in Becoming an Indigenous Language Instructor?
The Indigenous Language Instructor Employment Plan (ILIEP) may be the opportunity for you!
This program offers hands-on, on-the-job training combined with weekly classroom sessions as part of a territory-wide cohort. You’ll gain the skills and experience needed to support Indigenous language learning in schools and communities.
You do not need to be a fluent speaker or a certified teacher to apply. What matters most is your interest, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to sharing and teaching language.
Expressions of interest can be sent to Andrea.Harding@yk1.nt.ca. Please note: applications are submitted to ECE for funding approval, and spaces cannot be guaranteed until approval is confirmed.
Internal applicants will be given hiring priority in accordance with the collective agreement. If you’re passionate about revitalizing Indigenous languages and growing your skills in a supportive environment, we encourage you to apply.
Please note: Application deadline is May 4th.
