Register Your Child(ren) for Credit and Identity Protection re: PowerSchool Data Breach

PowerSchool Logo

On May 7, 2025, PowerSchool notified customers that a threat actor had contacted PowerSchool SIS customers in an attempt to extort them.

What should I do if the cybercriminal involved in the breach contact me?

Please note:

You will need to enter each of the children's names separately to set up an account for each of them.  As the parent, you are setting up the account on behalf of your minor children; therefore, you comply with the "over 18" requirement.

The following information was received from Experian:

"Enrollments as an adult and/or for a minor account are independent of each other.
If you have multiple children, each will need their own account.
Each of the children will have their own account with an email address on file (it can be the parent's email). Anything under "Monitored Information" is optional for additional monitoring.
Please ensure you are using different usernames for each child as not doing so can cause login issues. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please reach out to 214-393-3293 to receive the best assistance."

The Government of Canada strongly discourages paying ransom, as it supports the ransom business model and increases the risk and likelihood of this continuing.
