My name is Evelyne Straker. I am the Student Support Liaison working with the guidance department at École Sir John Franklin High School. I was born in Montréal, Quebec but moved to Yellowknife when I was 5 years old. I first met my husband, Benji, in junior high as we both attended École William McDonald School. We were married in 2002 and we have two beautiful daughters, Mali and Taya. I am a Falcon alumni, having graduated from Sir John with the class of '95! I attended post secondary at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta and I continue to take courses through Athabasca University. I love basketball. I have played competitively, coached and managed teams. Both of my daughters now play competively and I enjoy watching them as they both grow into amazing players. My other hobbies are stand up paddling, photography, painting and cuddling my dogs. I enjoy being in the outdoors, spending time at our cabin and on the water.
